Review:

I have already said it a hundred times and I’m gonna say it again; When it boils down to the sole constituent of Action, there’s nobody like Michael Bay, NOBODY! His inventiveness, his superior vision, and how he illustrates different set pieces, it is truly one of a kind, matched by none in the industry.

People may strike some reasonable conversations against some of the other characteristics of his ventures, which I, for the most part, do acknowledge, but no one with their sane minds could refute the absolute masterclass he tends to present in terms of the action pieces, he knows his craft.

Is it too flamboyant? Yes. Is it overly stylized? Yes, but does any of it influence (badly) the quality of his presentation? No, on the contrary, I do believe this particular approach of his, makes the action more so appealing and natural. “Ambulance” is no exception, there are tons of vehicles, lots of explosions (almost all of them are practical effects though, nothing artificial) and some enormous chase sequences; it is precisely what hardcore Bay partisans would want.

Apart from the typical Bay specified tropes, what caught my attention here is how aptly he manages to handle the emotions. Bay usually struggles in this department but here, quite surprisingly, he seemed to have made some improvisations (Massively elevated through a handful of outstanding performances); which were rather significant and should not be overlooked.
