Based upon the infamous children’s book series by R.L. Stine that has sold over 400 million copies the world over, “Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween” serves as the sequel to the original film which debuted in 2015. Jack Black reprises his role as Stine, a mysterious figure who is the key to all the monsters in town. Friends Sam Carter (Caleel Harris), and Sonny Quinn (Jeremy Ray Taylor) stumble upon an old manuscript in a terrifying abandoned house owned by Stine in the past. In reading its contents, Slappy, a dummy that comes to life and one of the major characters in the book anthology, begins to wreak havoc by summoning an apocalypse for world domination on Halloween. Along the way Sonny’s sister Sarah (Madison Iseman), joins the boys and Stine to put an end to Slappy’s reign before he grabs control of all evil creatures susceptible to his wrath. “Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween” is a spooky, funny and thrilling adventure in discovering what goes bump in the night. Only Stine’s knowledge of Slappy’s origins can help the children get to the bottom of all the malevolent forces determined to end the holiday once and for all.
